This could hang.This could flop! This could wiggle like jello since WordPress is already turning out to be a new hot lover for me.

(That tab button still doesn’t work. Being a blogger requires you to forfeit all writing etiquette. You won’t miss it after a while but you’ll still wonder about the people of the finer side.)

Now. I’m Trav and on days when I’m not working (Sunday, Monday, Every third and a half Saturday) I blog about new and upcoming films and other things like bad hair days and Cran-Apple. (OR how Cran-Apple could cure bad hair days. I unfortunately don’t have hair. I’m a Navy SEAL during the winter. Like Yogi Bear is a minister once first snow hits)

Disney is going back to its roots with “The Prince Of Persia: The Sands Of Time.” Starring Jake Gyllenhaal, who will forever be known to me as not the gay cowboy from Brokeback Mountain but as a man with range that is off the margin, and Gemma Arterton, who is not known but this film will surely kick her into some form of giant public stardom..if “Clash of the Titans” (March 2010) doesn’t or “G.I Joe”.

Movie was directed by Mike Newell, the man responsible for Mona Lisa Smile in ’03 and my disgusted frown with the “Adventures of Young Indiana Jones”‘

The story’s set in old Persia and is based on the video game of the same title. It focuses mainly on one arc of that game’s plot. Prince Dastan (Gyllenhaal’s character), A former ragamuffin turned fresh prince, teams up with rival royalty, Princess Tamina (Gemma’s Character) to stop an evil man from ruining the world by sandstorm. To do that they’ll need to rescue….the……water bottle of mischief?

No. The sands of time. I’m not familiar with sand engineering but I think it controls time. Evil villain will be played by Sir Ben Kingsley who plays a pretty decent creep but I know men in back alleys that can do better. Not insinuating that I do anything in back alleys or that alleys are scary. Go ahead and have a picnic in one some night if you’d like. The possibility of meeting Buffy and Angel is enormous.

I’ve never played the game but I’m excited to see that sandy, almost Aladdin, scenery!

Tyler Perry is spitting out another new Madea-styled comedy this year. This one is called “I Can Do Bad All By Myself” starring as you know, Tyler Perry. But this one won’t circle around Madea as much as “Madea Goes To Jail” did.

This movie’s about three teen delinquents that get the fate they didn’t want so much when they try to break into Madea’s house. Instead of “busting a cap in their asses”, Madea delivers them to their drunky Aunt who also like Madea doesn’t want no bad kids. Directed and written by Tyler Perry, this is due to be another funny one.

As a little boy in a grown mans body, the little one in me always gets excited when we see trailers about new upcoming kids movies. Here’s Astro Boy. A boy who’s big sister is Robot Jenny from My Life As A Teenage Robot. (A show I despise)

After the lost of his son, a scientist creates a robot in his son’s image to take its place. But instead of being the son the scientist needs, he goes off to save the world with his awesome tricked out skin! (This plot sort of reminds me about that woman that wanted make a clone of her dead daughter. Hopefully, children won’t get any crazy zombie-like ideas in their heads. The world doesn’t need any more Snuggies (R)/Useless Inventions (R))

Voice-overs of Kristen Bell, Nicholas Cage, (lets hope I don’t get those two voices confused) Eugene Levy, Nathan Lane, and Billy Nighly (working on H. Potter and The Deathly Hollows. Will be playing Professor Rufus Scrimgeor) will be featured in the film. Film directed by David Bowers (worked on Bolt) and screenplay written by Tim Harris. Go watch Astro Boy live out Robot Jenny’s legacy in (October) (2009)

Upcoming: The Good To Crappy Spectrum

When your mother remarries, its only right to be suspicious of the guy she brings home. Because sometimes, some of those suspicions can end up correct and you wouldn’t want to know that your new replacement-daddy is a crazy-loose-knifed-serial-killer.

Since today’s horror screenwriters can no longer come up with original ideas, they turn to old ideas and try to recycle and re-originate what isn’t theirs. But they always fall short from the original and it can end up downright bad.

This fall, a remake of the family thriller “Step-Father” (1987) will be spooking theaters near you. But from the looks of the trailer, not spooking them well.

The remake features Penn Badgely from “Gossip Girl” (chick CW series) as Michael Harding who is our protagonist and who has just returned from military school and is back home to find that his Mother has a new boyfriend. David Harris, played by Dylan Walsh of “Nip/Tuck”(Plastic Sugery FX Series), is that boyfriend. Eager to bond with his “new kids” , David puts a polite and trustworthy mask over his true dark and twisted identity. But Badgely’s character isn’t fooled as the rest of his siblings are and soon his suspicions are proved true and his step-father enlightens his new family on his dark and twisted ways.

Don’t worry the trailer reveals basically the entire plot. No need to pay to see it right?

Also in this film?: Sela Ward (who is good at playing Moms and also has a role on House M.D), Amber Heard (A Scarlett Johanson look alike who has a big plate of Hollywood films in front of her currently), and a bunch other upcoming/popularity roughing actors.

Down The Dweeb Road

Avatar: The Last Airbender is that teen-childrens show on Nickelodeon that little boys and teen boys and even grown up boys that still live with their moms have grown addicted to. Its about a kid named Aang (two A’s because that makes it manly) that’s an avatar to his “world” which is broken up into a bunch of nations…. This kid Aang is the only living avatar at the moment and has to learn and train to master every magical power in their world.

This teen/kiddie series was animated and was created in 2005 by Michael Dante DiMartino and stole the hearts of little children as an animated adventure. Now for the big screen picture, the carefully drawn sequence of lines that was formerly the avatar is now a real live little midget human being who’s 3D and touchable!

Most of the cast for this new flick have a very short Hollywood resume except for Shaun Toub, Aasif Mandvi, and Randall Duk Kim (they all will be playing adult parts since they’re a little too aged and overgrown for the film costumes required). Here’s hope the child acting for this one is on the mark.

Director will be M. Night Shyamalyn from “Lady In The Water” which sucked massively Shyamalyn has a Razzie for worst director. Let’s cross our fingers air-bending kids! (Screenplay writers are the same from the series. Wipe the sweat of your forehead. Its safe)

If you’ve walked through your community mall or anywhere in your section of the world where there are lots of those demanding pop up advertisements, you’ve probably seen a lot of Meryl Streep. Scary.

That’s because there’s been a lot of big buzz on her new film, “Julie & Julia”, which stars, as you know, Meryl Streep and Amy Adams. The films about the inspiration that the famous chef Julia Child had on book author Julie Powell during a depressing time in her life where she was feeling inadequate. Written and directed by Nora Ephron, the film plays off the two true stories of Julia Child and Julie Powell, who have many similarities, though they live in separate times. Originally, Powell was an ordinary desk-job secretary but after a year of cooking only Julia Child recipes she found new things to make her boring life a lot more tolerable and wrote a book about those endeavors.

Let’s hope Ephron’s adaption is NY Times Best Selling cause those folks don’t settle for less.
